MANCHESTER – Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba reportedly resigned from the French National Team (Timnas). According to reports SunOn Monday (10/26/2020), the decision was made by Pogba because French President Emmanuel Macron was suspected of insulting his religion. Halfway through last week or Wednesday October 21, 2020, Macron issued a conviction for the murder suffered by a history teacher, Samuel Paty. Samuel Paty was found dead in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, northwest of Paris, because a few days earlier he showed a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad as an example of a case while teaching.

In Macron’s view, the perpetrator of Samuel Paty’s murder was a national militant Islamic group or commonly known as Cheikh Yassine. Because of this, Macron asked that the group disband for the common good.
Additionally, Macron also called for the Pantin Mosque, which is located on the northeastern outskirts of Paris, to be closed. This is because one of the members of the mosque congregation is one of the student’s guardians, where Samuel Paty taught.
One more thing, Macron also revealed another controversial thing. He called Samuel Paty “murdered because the Islamists wanted our future.” Suddenly, Macron’s words received a response from various state officials.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan even asked Macron to improve his mindset after the previous comment. Therefore, according to reports SunPogba, known as a devout Muslim, reportedly resigned from the French team.
