Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

Secretary General of the Islamic Defenders Front (REIT), Munarman said the parties are still seeking the FPI High Priest’s legal case, Rizieq Shihab upon his return to Indonesia as a criminal.

“That (whoever is seeking Rizieq’s legal case) is a criminal means that person. That is a criminal,” Munarman said at the FPI’s DPP office, Petamburan, on Thursday (11/5).

Munarman also criticized the police for issuing a statement that they would re-examine the reports of the legal case that dragged Rizieq. According to him, the statement indicated the intention of the police to criminalize someone.

“Because this means that law enforcement officers deliberately build cases and find flaws or, generally speaking, it is often called criminalization. Now, this is not justified,” he said.

Munarman explained that so far there have been eight legal cases that dragged Rizieq. Of these, two of them have either had SP3 status or have been fired, namely accusations of defamation of Pancasila and pornography.

According to Munarman, these legal cases were just a form of disgust for Rizieq. For this reason, he said, the FPI will not remain silent and will continue to fight through legal channels.

“If you ask them, what does the FPI want? Yes, of course we will prepare legal assistance. But this means criminals. This is criminalization. We will fight, in that way,” he said.

Previously, the Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Comr. Mr. Yusri Yunus, said that his party would examine a series of legal reports related to Rizieq. He said that his party had received many reports that carried Rizieq’s name.

However, Yusri was reluctant to comment further on the legal case report. Including, there is the possibility of continuing the legal process against the leader of the FPI.

“In fact, there are many police reports on Pak Rizieq, I will review them later,” Yusri told Polda Metro Jaya, on Thursday (5/11).
