Bareskrim Polri arrested the MDF as the alleged owner of the YouTube account MY ASEAN regarding the video parody of the song Indonesia Raya. The MDF was arrested at his residence in Cianjur, West Java.

MDF’s arrest is the result of a joint Malaysian or PDRM policy investigation with Cyber ​​Bareskrim Polri. The PDRM initially examined an 11-year-old citizen witness in Malaysia who stated that the author of the Indonesian Raya parody was the owner of the MY ASEAN YouTube account in Indonesia.

Based on preliminary information from the PDRM, Dittipidsiber Bareskrim Polri, on Thursday, December 31, 2020, arrested the MDF who was allegedly parodying the song Indonesia Raya. The basis of the arrest was the police report: LP / B / 0730 / XII / 2020 / Bareskrim of December 30, 2020.

The MDF was secured at 20.00 WIB in Karangienenh, Cianjur, West Java. Various evidences were obtained.

“1 Realme C2 cell phone, 1 SIM card, 1 assembled PC consisting of CPU, monitor and speaker, 1 birth certificate in the name of the MDF and 1 KK in the name of the MDF,” said the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police.

It is suspected that MDF has committed a criminal act of disseminating information aimed at creating hatred or enmity towards certain people and / or community groups based on ethnicity, religion, race and intergroup (SARA), as indicated in article 45, paragraph 2, together with article 28, paragraph 2 Law No. 19 of 2016 on Amendments to Law No. 11 of 2008 on Information and Electronic Transactions.

MDF is also suspected of altering the national anthem with tones, rhythms, words and other compositions with the intention of insulting or degrading the national anthem referred to in article 64A together with article 70 of Law No. 24 of 2009 on Flags, Languages ​​and National Emblem, as well as the National Anthem.
