Jayapura – Papua Governor Lukas Enembe said he had entered Vanimo, Papua New Guinea (PNG), via mouse or trail. Luke admitted that he went to seek treatment.

“It is true that I went to Vanimo (Wednesday 3/31) on the pedestrian path using a motorcycle taxi to receive treatment,” Lukas said, as reported by Antara. Between, Friday (2/4/2021).

Lukas admitted that he had illegally entered Papua New Guinea via the rat trail and returned to Jayapura on Friday (2/4) around 11.30 WIT through the Skouw Nevada Border Post (PLBN). He admitted that he had to go to Papua New Guinea illegally due to his illness.

“I was wrong because I entered PNG by traditional roads or trails. But I did it because I had to, that is, for treatment and therapy due to my illness,” he said on the sidelines of an antigen test at PLBN Skouw.

The Indonesian Consul in Vanimo, Allen Simarmata, said that he only found out about Lukas Enembe’s whereabouts on Thursday (1/4) on the grounds that he wanted treatment. Allen claimed to have received information from the Papua New Guinea side.

“In fact, there have been reports that Governor Enembe went to Vanimo for treatment and entered illegally on the road,” said Allen Simarmata.

It is known that Lukas Enembe was in Vanimo accompanied by Hendrik Abidondifu and was picked up by the Consul of Papua New Guinea by the Consul General of Papua New Guinea, Mr. Geoffrey L. Wiri. When he returned to Jayapura, Lukas was seen being escorted by the Indonesian Consul in Vanimo, PNG, Allen Simarmata to the RI-PNG neutral zone.
