The discussion between Pangdam Jaya, Major General Dudung Abdurachman and the Front of Islamic Defenders (FPI) has a long tail. The two parties responded to the statements of the other.
This debate began when Dudung spoke about the virality of a video showing several men in stripes taking down billboards with a photo of Habib Rizieq Syihab (HRS). Dudung admitted that it was he who ordered his troops to remove the billboards bearing the image of Habib Rizieq around the Jakarta area.
“Someone with a striped shirt lowered the Habib Rizieq poster, that’s my order, because several times the PP Police lowered it, raised it again. That’s my order,” said Major General Dudung in the Monas area , Central Jakarta, on Friday (11/20).
The order was issued because the installation of several billboards was deemed illegal. Such as not paying taxes or not according to the predetermined place where the billboards are installed.

Dudung also said that all parties must obey the laws in force in Indonesia. If FPI does not comply, it can be dissolved.
“Well, if someone in this republic, this is the rule of law, he must obey the law, if there are clear rules for billboards, there are tax payments and a place is determined, do not be arbitrary, as if he was the most correct “There’s no such thing. Don’t try to point it out. If necessary, FPI just dissolve it, just dissolve it. If you try it with TNI, come on,” he said.
The president of the DPP Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), Slamet Ma’arif, responded to Dudung’s statement. Slamet said that there are rules of the game that apply in this country of law regarding the dissolution of FPI.
“This is a rule of law, everything has rules of the game,” Slamet told reporters on Friday (11/20/2020).

Slamet asked TNI not to compete with the ulama. He also spoke about the people and TNI who have one heart in defending the Republic of Indonesia.
“I advise TNI that TNI was founded by the ulama (General Sudirman) and has always been united with Muslims. Therefore, TNI does not want to confront clergy and Muslims. I am sure TNI will remain in harmony with the ulama and Muslims to defend the Republic of Indonesia, “he said.
As for the billboard with Habib Rizieq’s face lowered, Slamet said it was the people who took the initiative to install it. Slamet did not question the reduction of billboards.
“The thing to remember is the people who put up billboards, not FPI. The banner that was removed is the IB HRS welcome banner, and he’s already in the country, so it doesn’t matter if TNI helps Satpol PP, “Slamet said.
