jpnn.com, SEMARANG – Police in Semarang, Central Java, arrested four people suspected of making and distributing counterfeit money.
The four perpetrators arrested were Yapto Sudibyo (31), a resident of Muktiharjo Kidul, Semarang City, Suripto (51), a resident of Wonosobo Regency.
Two more, Achmad Sodikin (49), a resident of Batang Regency and Yasir Nugroho (35), a resident of Banyuwangi Regency, East Java.
The police confiscated evidence of counterfeit money which was printed with a face value of Rs 1 billion.
Kapolrestabes Semarang Kombes Pol Auliansyah Lubis in Semarang, on Friday (11/27), said that the disclosure of this network comes from a bank report that found fake money in an ATM.
“The perpetrator’s way is to deposit money through cash deposits at ATMs,” he said, accompanied by the Head of the Semarang Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKBP Indra Mardiana.
As for the role of each perpetrator, Suspect Yapto was a counterfeit banknote printer using a computer and printer.
The Rs 100,000 counterfeit money was sold to the Sodikin suspect at a price of Rs 2.7 million for 100 pieces.
