TANGERANG, KOMPAS TV – Several facilities at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten, were damaged during the return of the Grand Imam of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab of Saudi Arabia.

The damage to the airport facilities was due to the fact that the crowd wanting to pick up Rizieq Shihab had shot up to reach thousands of people. Airport activities even stopped for several hours.

In response to the damage to the airport facilities, the president of the 212 Alumni Brotherhood (PA), Slamet Maarif, admitted that his party had sent representatives to meet with the airport.

“We have sent a team to meet and coordinate with the airport so that (the damage) is resolved immediately,” Slamet Maarif told reporters in Jakarta on Wednesday (11/11/2020).

During his team’s visit to the airport, Slamet said, his party also offered compensation related to damaged airport facilities. However, he said, the airport rejected it.

“We want compensation, but the airport said we don’t have to, because it’s not much,” Slamet said.
