Jakarta, CNN Indonesia – Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) DKI Jakarta does not impose sanctions on managers McDonald’s in Sarinah Related to the crowd around the fast food franchise restaurant. Managers are only reprimanded for organizing ceremonial activities.
McDonald’s Sarinah was surrounded by people who wanted to take photos at the location on Sunday (10/5), which was the store’s last day of operations. McDonald’s Sarinah is permanently closed after the building manager plans to renovate the building.
“Yes, it is already closed. The place of business is already closed,” Arifin, of the DKI Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), told reporters (11/5).
McD establishments in Sarinah have many memories for some Jakartans because they are the first McD establishments in Indonesia. This store opened on February 14, 1991.
Arifin said McDonald’s management had carried out a closing activity the last day they operated in Sarinah.
Initially, according to Arifin, only McD’s management attended the ceremony. However, when the event took place, many people attended to create a crowd.
“When closing “They are not many, but because they are activities along the way, people come together,” he explained.
Arifin said he immediately instructed his staff to disperse the crowd. He said he had also reprimanded McD Sarinah’s management for the incident.
“We chided a lot, in the sense that we chided the organizer of the activity because there should be no more ceremonial activities,” Arifin said.
The massive events that occurred during the closing process of the McDonald’s Sarinah store were busy circulating on social networks. One of them uploaded the Instagram account @koalisipejalankaki.
They regretted the crowd during the point of sale closure process because DKI Jakarta was implementing the Large Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) rules to prevent the spread of the coronavirus outbreak (Covid-19). (dmi / wis)
