Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) believes that economic growth in the I-2020 quarter of 2.97% is already quite good. According to Jokowi, many countries experienced negative growth.

“Let’s see that some countries experiencing contractions are growing negatively. China fell from 6% to -6.8%. This means that the year-over-year rate is 12.8%. France is less than 6.25%. The Hong Kong delta is 5.9%. , Spain delta 5.88%. Italy delta 4.95% grew negative. “
According to Jokowi, Covid-19 has affected the economies of many countries, including Indonesia. There are two sides that are affected, namely demand and supply.

Jokowi also highlighted the Indonesian Manufacturing Index, or PMI, which was the deepest contraction compared to ASEAN countries. According to him, this solution must be sought immediately.
“For this reason, I ask the Minister of Economy to pay attention to the figures that I transmit in detail. Which sectors and subsectors experienced the deepest contractions, seek stimuli. Therefore, we must create an economic stimulus program and be in the objective. And start designing recovery scenarios. “
