Jakarta –
The director of the National Agency for Disaster Management (BNPB), Doni Monardo, said the government would pay for the use of 2 and 3-star hotels that are used as separate isolation rooms for COVID-19 patients. This was revealed after conducting a review of the Athlete’s House.
Doni said that 2- and 3-star hotels as self-contained isolation rooms can also be used by symptom-free (OTG) people.
“For those who have been confirmed but without symptoms, it will be guaranteed by the government,” Doni said in Jakarta on Saturday (12/09/2020).
According to Doni, the cost of self-isolation in 2- and 3-star hotels run by the central government is a direct direction from President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
“Several regions have said that they have opened separate isolation rooms using public places, such as GOR. The government, in this case the Coordinating Ministry of Finance, in the direction of the president, is preparing 2 and 3-star hotels, ”he explained.
Still, Doni said implementation would be further regulated by the task force, the central government and regional governments.
Previously, the Coordinating Minister of Economy, Airlangga Hartarto, said that the government would bear the costs of using the isolation of patients with COVID-19 in 2 and 3-star hotels, an effort to handle the Corona case in the country.
In managing COVID-19, Indonesia has managed to increase the cure rate of COVID-19 patients. As of September 11, the cure rate was 71.21%. It is recorded that up to 20 provinces have a percentage rate of recovery above the national average.
Airlangga said that at the national level the capacity of health facilities remains adequate. This is reflected in the filling level of isolation beds and ICU beds in reference hospitals (RS) in 8 priority provinces. Of all ICU beds, the average occupancy rate is 46.11%.
Meanwhile, of the total beds in the isolation room, the average occupancy rate was 47.88%. With the occupancy rate still below 50%, it means that the availability of beds is still very sufficient.
“We have also increased the capacity of isolation beds and ICU beds in reference hospitals (RS) and non-reference hospitals from March 2020 to August 2020,” Airlangga said in its official statement, Jakarta, Saturday (12/09 / 2020).
