The event, titled Million Muslim Vote Summit, was held as part of a campaign for 1 million Muslim voters to cast their votes in the 2020 presidential election. Emgage Action endorsed Biden in April after Senator Bernie Sanders, the original supporter of the group, will end his campaign.
Biden emphasized that the political voice of Muslims is their voice. For him, the voice of American Muslims is important.
“The voice of your choice is your voice, your voice is the voice of your choice,” Biden said.
“I hope that our schools teach us more about the Islamic faith. I hope that we can speak about all religions, religions with great recognition,” Biden told the meeting of Muslim American voters.
“The voice of American Muslims is important … but we all know that their voice is not always recognized and represented. It is your right as a citizen,” he continued.
