KONTAN.CO.ID – WASHINGTON. After being in Georgia, now-Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has also surpassed Donald Trump in the state of Pennsylvania, which is the seat of the Republican Party vote.

This advantage brought Biden even closer to occupying the White House.

Reuters reported that Biden had the lead with 253 electoral votes, while Donald Trump had only 214 electoral votes, according to most major American television networks.

Winning Pennsylvania’s 20 electoral votes will place the former vice president in more than the 270 electoral votes he needs to secure the presidency. Meanwhile, with only 16 electoral votes, Georgia will place her on top of victory.

In Pennsylvania, Biden beat Trump by 5,500 votes Friday morning. While in Georgia, Biden led by 1,097 votes over Trump.

The 77-year-old Biden will become the next president if he wins in the state of Pennsylvania or by winning two from the trio of Georgia, Nevada and Arizona.

Meanwhile, the road seems narrower for Trump: he will have to hold out in Pennsylvania and Georgia and also overtake Biden in Nevada or Arizona.

The change in Georgia’s political map came hours after Trump appeared at the White House and made an unsubstantiated statement claiming the elections had been “stolen.”

Biden also held tight gains in Arizona and Nevada. In Arizona, his lead dropped to about 47,000 on Friday morning and in Nevada he was ahead with about 11,500 votes.
