Jakarta –
The business community welcomes and thanks the government and the House of Representatives who agreed to ratify the Omnibus Act (Law) to become Law (Law) through today’s Plenary Session.
The president of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Rosan P. Roeslani, hopes that the Ciptaker Law can boost the economy and investment by creating and expanding employment opportunities.
“The law is capable of responding and solving several problems that hinder investment in the increase and creation of jobs, through the simplification of bureaucracy and licensing systems, the convenience of business actors, especially MSMEs, a enabling investment ecosystem, to create bigger jobs to meet the needs of a growing workforce. continues to grow, “it said in a written statement, on Monday (10/5/2020).
He explained that the COVID-19 pandemic had an impact on the economy, including creating jobs. Today, many have lost their jobs and many workers work part-time. With the large amount of investment coming in, he believes the job field will be more open.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has a very significant impact on the economy and the business world. The Job Creation Bill is important and necessary to support economic growth through economic recovery and transformation programs,” he explained.
He assessed that the dynamics of global economic change requires a quick and accurate response. Without structural reforms, economic growth will continue to slow.
“Employment must be created, that is, encouraging an increase in investment by 6.6-7% to build new businesses or develop existing businesses, which in turn will encourage higher consumption in the range of 5.4-5 , 6%, “he said.
He also thinks that the ratification of the Ciptaker Law can support the empowerment program of MIPYMES and cooperatives so that their contribution to GDP increases to 65% and 5.5% respectively.
He added that the Job Creation Law would increase Indonesia’s competitiveness and encourage investment. This will create more job opportunities for people and ultimately accelerate the recovery of the national economy.
