KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. For cyclists, this is the latest regulation from the Ministry of Transport (Kemenhub). The Minister of Transport (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi issued the Regulation of the Minister of Transport (Permenhub) Number 59 of 2020 concerning the safety of cyclists on the road.
The regulation, which was signed on August 14, 2020, was issued to create orderly traffic and ensure the safety of bicycle users on the road.
As for the regulation, it was confirmed by the spokeswoman for the Ministry of Transport, Adita Irawati. “Yes, that’s true,” Adita said when confirmed by Kompas.com on Friday (9/18/2020). “Promulgated on August 14, promulgated on August 25,” he added.
Confirmed separately, the director general of Land Transport of the Ministry of Transport, Budi Setiadi, said that today he will give a press conference on the rules of cycling. “I’ll press later,” he said briefly when confirmed. Kompas.com.

Citing a copy of the Permenhub, Article 2 of Chapter II states that bicycles that operate on the road must comply with safety requirements.
The safety requirements mentioned include:
1. Mudguards
2. Bel
3. Brake system
4. Lights
5. Red light reflector
6. White or yellow wheel light reflector, and
7. Pedal
