Officially, Diogo Jota will accompany Mo Salah to Liverpool

KOMPAS.com – Liverpool officially have the arrival of a new striker, namely Diogo Jota of Woleverhampton Wanderers, also known as Wolves.

Liverpool officially introduced Diogo Jota as their new player on Saturday (9/19/2020) WIB evening.

Diogo Jota was recruited by the Wolves’ Liverpool after spending a transfer value of 45 million pounds, or around 859 billion rupees.

He signed a contract with Liverpool for a duration of five years.

The 23-year-old striker will wear jersey number 20, the number he wore when he defended for Portuguese club Pacos de Ferreira.

His arrival is an alternative for coach Juergen Klopp to occupy the front row that is often occupied by Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

“This is a very exciting time for me and my family,” said Liverpoolfc.com.

“Everything I’ve been from when I was a kid until now, joining a world champion club like Liverpool is amazing. I just want to start fast.”

Previously, Diogo Jota had stolen the attention of Premier League fans while still wearing the Wolves uniform.

He also became the Wolves’ top scorer when he helped his team rise to the Premier League, the highest caste in the Premier League in the 2017-2018 season.
