Basuki instructed the Pemali Juana River Basin Center (BBWS) to operate all the water pumps administered by the PUPR Ministry.
The pumps that work are the Kali Sringin Pump, the Kali Tenggang Pump, the Tawang Pump, and the Kali Banger Pump.
“As for flood management in Semarang, today the Bringin River is also overflowing. Then in the Kaligawe Plumbon River it overflows. It actually happens that the tide is high, 1.4 meters. The pump is decisive,” he said Basuki.

The municipal government ensures to optimize the water pump
Previously reported, the Semarang city government claimed to increase the capacity of water pumps and drainage to overcome floods in Semarang.
“Once it declines, we will optimize the water pump. Some have started to back off. We will prioritize three sub-districts like Ngaliyan, Pedurungan and Genuk with existing pumps and portable pumps,” Semarang Mayor Hendrar Prihadi said in Semarang on Saturday. (2/6/2021).
“In fact, it has to be evaluated because the pump is quite effective in managing floods in Semarang. The problem occurs due to the overflow of rivers, drainage and canals. So the power of the pump and the canal will increase at various points, “he added.
For this effort, Hendrar admitted, he would increase the budget to optimize water pumps and drainage in the next three years.
“The need is around 800 billion rupees, in PU there is 350 billion rupees. Maybe from 2022 we will increase it to around 500 to 600 billion rupees so we can finish it,” he said.
