Khabib Nurmagomedov retires from the UFC. So now in the lightweight class, Justin Gaethje is still in first place and ready to duel anyone!

Khabib Nurmagomedov retired from the UFC after defeating Justin Gaethje in the lightweight title race at UFC 254 in Fight Island, Abu Dhabi on Sunday (10/25) yesterday.

Khabib the belt holder can hold it. ‘The Eagle’ completed ‘The Highlight’ via a triangular choke in the second round.

Khabib retired with a fantastic winning streak, 29-0. In addition, you can also defend your lightweight champion belt.

Justin Gaethje admitted that Khabib Nurmagomedov was indeed a great fighter. Khabib said he was good at the best game, much less wrestling.

In official UFC records, Justin Gaethje still ranks first in the lightweight class. This means that his chances of winning the lightweight champion belt left by Khabib are wide open.

“Now I am number one,” he said.

At least besides Justin Gaethje, there are still four other fighters who have a chance to win the championship belt. They are Dustin Poirier, Tony Ferguson, Conor McGregor, and Michael Chandler.

“Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier said they wanted a duel, but so far it’s not clear. If Conor wants to win, come face me,” he said.

“I love this competition, the adrenaline hits me. This is my life and I will not stop,” said Justin Gaethje.

Interestingly, all five fighters have competed with each other. Justin Gaethje has beaten Tony Ferguson, Dustin Poirier has beaten Justin Gaethje before and Conor McGregor has beaten Dustin Poirier.
