Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Education and Culture Minister Nobody Makarim said that many people always ask him about the future. No less than before he became a minister, he worked in technology.

However, whenever that question occurred to him, he insisted that no one could predict exactly what the future would be like.

“Because the only thing that is certain about the future is the uncertainty about our future. Many people ask me, because before I became a minister, I was in technology, always asking what the future is like. My answer always says, we can’t predict what it’s going to be. it will happen with precision, “he said at the LPDP webinar on Monday (11/2/2020).

However, he assessed that the future can be anticipated with the ability to keep up with rapidly changing times. Changes brought about by technological advances that will also restructure the Indonesian economy and socioculture.

For this reason, one of the steps you think you have to take in order not to be left behind in the future is learning. Because what is learned today will probably be irrelevant in the future, so learning every day is imperative.

“But what is more important is what we learn in the present is to learn to love learning, because we will be asked to continually re-learn anew throughout our lives. There is a disruption of new learning funds again. So the love of learning is extremely important, “he said.

In addition, he evaluated that what should be done next is to strengthen the collaboration capacity. Cooperation between young people is considered very important in coping with ever faster technological changes.

“The ability of young people to work together to create something, produce something, do various kinds of productive things as a team will be increasingly important in technological development,” he explained.

According to him, skill as a team will make a greater contribution than skill independently.

“So our ability to work in a group and brainstorm as a group is extremely important,” he explained.

Another important thing is that the community must also instill the courage to take risks, especially the young generation of today. Because, without risk, he emphasized that there would be no innovation.

“There is no innovation, it is impossible to achieve it without taking risks. So the ability and courage to take risks for our young generation is also very important,” he said.
