Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Governor of Jakarta DKI, Anies Baswedan, confirmed that there will no longer be independent isolation. All patients exposed to Covid-19 will be isolated in a referral hospital or Wisma Athlete.

This was stated by Anies Baswedan in giving a press release to the media team in South Sunter Lake, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, as quoted by CNBC Indonesia, on Wednesday (2/9/2020).

“Until now, those who are recommended to carry out isolation in government-owned facilities are those who live in traditional settlements,” Anies said.

“Those who cannot carry out isolation independently, but have enough houses to live in, can still isolate themselves independently. In the future, they will all be isolated in government-owned facilities,” he said.

Anies emphasized that this policy not only applies to patients who are exposed to positivity and have symptoms, but also to positive patients who do not have any symptoms of Covid-19.

“We convey that people without symptoms will be isolated in the Athlete’s House and it has been agreed that we will do so. All those who are positively exposed without symptoms or mild symptoms should be isolated ”, he explained.

The former Minister of Education and Culture admitted that he was preparing a regulation to accommodate the plan. This policy was implemented to break the chain of transmission of Covid-19.

“So in Jakarta regulations are being prepared. It was decided earlier that the government should carry out isolation. People who are positively exposed are obliged to continue this isolation,” he said.
