JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – East Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit Chief Budhy Novian said that as of today, sanctions for entering coffins for residents not wearing masks will no longer apply in East Jakarta (East Jakarta) .
The reason is because the sanctions are not in accordance with the content of the applicable governor’s regulation.
“I have warned you not to do it again because we do the education based on a reference. We should not like the officials,” he said, on Friday (4/9/2020).
Budhy said the sanctions were not based on the Governor’s Regulation (Pergub) Number 51 of 2020. In the governor’s regulation, the fines and penalties only cover social work and administrative fines.

In addition to not agreeing with the governor’s regulations, Budhy assessed that such practices have generated opposition from various parties.
“We only avoid the pros and cons, so we only act by the rules. We are just field executives acting,” he added.
He hopes that administrative fines and an hour of social work can deter people and adhere to health protocols.
The penalty for entering the coffin had previously been imposed for those who did not wear a mask outside the house. Satpol PP agents had applied these sanctions in the Kalisari area, Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta.
Some residents who were caught in the raid apparently prefer to enter the boxes. This is because residents want to save time by not doing social work and refuse to pay fines because they have no money.
