The Interior Ministry said that the Front of Islamic Defenders (FPI) is not currently registered as a mass organization. FPI does not care that the Registered Certificate (SKT) is not issued by the Ministry of the Interior because it is not considered beneficial.
“The FPI does not care. Whether the SKT is issued or not, there is no benefit to the FPI. Without the SKT, the FPI will continue to be the defender of religion and the servant of the people,” said the deputy secretary general of the FPI. Aziz Yanuar in his statement, on Saturday (11/21). / 2020).
Aziz said that mass organizations are not required to register with the Interior Ministry. The registry, Aziz said, is just an access to APBN assistance funds.
“Until now, FPI has been independent in terms of funding, never requesting funding from APBN,” Aziz said.
Aziz said that FPI has proven its effectiveness by registering with the government for the past 20 years. However, Aziz continued, FPI never made use of the SKT.
“The FPI has submitted all the administrative requirements requested by the government. The FPI has received a recommendation from the Ministry of Religion and the formal documents of administrative requirements should be sufficient, SKT is only an administrative matter,” he said.
