Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
Metro Jaya Regional Police Chief Inspector General Fadil Imran supported Major General Dudung Abdurachman of Pangdam Jaya’s move to remove the billboard from the Grand Imam of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab.
“I support what Pangdam Jaya has done,” Fadil told Polda Metro Jaya on Friday (11/20).
Fadil claimed that the removal of the Rizieq billboards was good for the state. According to him, the installation of banners or billboards also has its own rules.
“Local regulations are violated, the installation of the banner has regulations, there must be a permit and you must pay taxes,” he said.
Fadil has just officially served as the Jakarta Metro Police Chief, replacing Inspector General Nana Sudjana, who was fired for allowing the Rizieq event to rage in the Petamburan area of central Jakarta. Fadil previously served as Chief of the East Java Police.
Previously, Pangdam Major General Jaya Dudung Abdurachman admitted that the removal of the Rizieq billboards by a group of men in striped clothing was his order.
“There is a striped shirt to bring down Habib Rizieq’s billboard, that’s my order,” Dudung said after holding a TNI election for Pilkada in the Monas, Jakarta area on Friday (11/20).
The two-star general said the billboard removal was done because Satpol PP did not do its job because the billboards were reinstalled.
Additionally, Dudung also ordered the removal of Rizieq, which is still installed to this day. The cleaning of Rizieq’s billboards was carried out immediately by his troops after the rally in the Monas area.
On the other hand, the Head of the Public Information Division (Kabagpenum) of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan, said that his party would not follow in the footsteps of the Jaya Regional Military Command to remove the billboards from Rizieq. scattered in various regions.
“So far, we have not taken measures like those taken by the Jaya Regional Military Command,” he said at the Police Headquarters, Jakarta, on Friday (11/20).
