The case of the video parody of the song Indonesia Raya has entered a new chapter. The main perpetrator is not from Malaysia, but is allegedly an Indonesian citizen. It is true?
This parody video of the song Indonesia Raya was originally uploaded by a YouTube account with the Malaysian flag logo. The video, titled ‘Indonesia Raya Instrumental (Parody + Lyrics Video)’ shows a chicken with a Pancasila symbol on a red and white background. In addition, there is also an animation of a boy watching peeing.
The video begins with the crowing of a rooster. The arrangement of the song is almost the same as that of the song ‘Indonesia Raya’. Meanwhile, the lyrics outline an insult to Indonesia. There were also those who offended President Jokowi and the first president of the Republic of Indonesia, Sukarno.
The Malaysian police have come to investigate the song ‘Indonesia Raya’ as a parody. As a result of the interim investigation, the Malaysian police suspect that the main culprit is from Indonesia.
Police Inspector General Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador said his party had insured an Indonesian worker in Sabah. They went through it to find out who edited the video.
“The suspect was arrested in Sabah on Monday and the Malaysian Government Police (PDRM) have obtained new leads in our investigation,” Abdul Hamid was quoted as saying by Malaysian media Bernama on Thursday (12/31/2020).
“Yes, PDRM has received new instructions that the perpetrator is from there (Indonesia), and our suspect is being investigated further to determine who edited the video,” he continued.
Abdul Hamid said that this information had been passed on to the Indonesian side. His expectations were immediately identified by the prime suspect.
“In this case, an evil and irresponsible person with bad motives has tarnished the national anthem of Indonesia Raya. This parody has enraged the Indonesian people, and I can assure you that the Criminal Investigation Department has taken action by forming and flying a special team to Sabah yesterday to track down the perpetrators, ”he added.
