Argo said that the training place was like a house or a village. Various trainings are being taught, he said, including hand-to-hand self defense, knife throwing and use of sharp weapons.

“Training was also given on how to mount bombs and how to ambush, it was carried out by training someone whom we detained the teacher, named Pak Joko aka Pak Karso,” Argo said.

According to Argo, Karso is also in charge of recruiting coaches. At least eight people were invited to train in the group.

“There were eight coaches that were recruited by Karso who were then used to train the students we mentioned that he had a network of JI internships that was then taken into the top 10, then not all of the top 10 were recruited, but some they were selected, they saw how he looked mentally, then what is his position and what is his ideology, “said Argo.

He also stated that the training process lasted for six months. The trained students were later dispatched to Syria and joined the Al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorist organization Jabhat Al-Nusra to continue their military training there.

“That the recruitment of the younger generation of JI has been recruited since 2011, so there are 7 batches with a total of 96. Of these 96, 66 of them left for Syria. Why not 96 for Syria? Syria, “Argo said.

Argo explained that of the dozens of people who left for Syria, some died and were buried in Syria. However, some have returned to Indonesia.

“Of course we have made several arrests and we have been convicted by the court and some are still in process,” Argo said.
