Myanmar military forces escape into forest after hundreds of villagers fight with their own weapons

NAYPYIDAW, KOMPAS.TV – Residents used homemade weapons when they clashed with Myanmar’s military junta forces in a riot.

The dispute took place near Thapyayaye Village in Yinmabin, Sagaing region, on Friday (2/4/2021).

The riot broke out at 4 in the morning, after the villagers carried out a defensive action against 100 soldiers of the military junta who were about to storm the village.

One resident said that the military junta troops tried to attack the village because several villagers and monks from the village led the military junta’s anti-coup demonstration.

The villagers themselves number in the hundreds of other villages from Yinmabin and Kani, who helped.

Residents use homemade weapons such as pistols and gas pressure guns that fire glass or steel balls.
