jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Former Democratic Party politician Ferdinand Hutahaean assessed that the decision of the former board of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) to declare a new social organization or mass organization of the FPI after the dissolution of the government was a real form of opposition to the state.

Ferdinand said that the legal basis for the dissolution of the FPI and the prohibition of all its activities and attributes had been explained by the Coordinating Minister of Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD, as recorded in the Joint Decree (SKB) of three ministers and three institutional leaders.

“So if they mock, oppose and challenge in this way, I think that not only mass organizations are sanctioned, but also the administration has to face legal proceedings,” Ferdinand told jpnn.com on Thursday (12/31 ).

The man who once led President Jokowi’s Volunteer Front (Bara JP) considered the steps taken by former FPI officials to declare the United Islamic Front on the same day as the dissolution of the FPI were a trap and against the state.

This is because, said the executive director of Energy Watch Indonesia (EWI), the dissolution of FPI was carried out by the government not only because of its name, but also because of its activities that were considered radical and anti-Pancasila.

“So, if later the Islamic Defenders Front dissolves and they change their name to the United Islamic Front, and they continue their radicalism and anti-Pancasila activities, the activities are the same, the figures are the same, it must be banned and punished” Ferdinand said.

“Don’t let the state be fooled by mass organizations like the FPI, they must be brushed off, punished,” concluded the North Sumatran man.

Earlier, several figures immediately declared the United Islamic Front after the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) was declared a banned organization on Wednesday (12/30) afternoon.
