Manchester United failed to score in the first half at home to West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League. The monotonous game kept the score at 0-0 until the break.
Playing at Old Trafford on Sunday (11/22/2020) early morning WIB, MU nearly took the lead in the second minute with a header from Anthony Martial, but West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone managed to save the net.
MU threatened again in the 16th minute through Martial, and Johnstone again tried to reject his shot.
West Brom responded in the 21st minute. Karlan Grant’s kick hit Harry Maguire and nearly broke into MU’s goal, but David De Gea managed to block it. A minute later, Branislav Ivanovic’s header went over the net.
Appearing with a five-back formation, West Brom was left free to pile his players in the back. There were 8 earned tackles, 11 sweeps and 11 interceptions that were successfully made in the first half to thwart the attack thrown by Marcus Rashford et al.
Meanwhile, West Brom still had time to threaten via Kyle Bartley’s header in the 42nd minute, but still wandered off. Bruno Fernandes lands a free kick in the 45th minute, but Johnstone easily comes back to stop his shot.
The scoring of the glasses lasted until the break.
