London –
David Moyes did not just accept West Ham United’s loss to Manchester United. The West Ham manager deemed the tying goal invalid. Why?
West Ham vs MU was held at the London Olympic Stadium on Sunday (06/12/2020) at the WIB in the morning. This is West Ham’s drive to climb the rankings due to their opponent’s poor record.
MU has only won three of the last 11 meetings with West Ham in the Premier League. West Ham is likely to win easily when dominant in the first half.
Even the west London troops took the lead in the 38th minute through Tomas Soucek. In the second half, West Ham also nearly scored their second goal.
However, the inclusion of Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford overwhelmed West Ham. The Hammers ultimately lost 1-3 after Paul Pogba, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford took turns breaking into Lukas Fabianski’s net.
This defeat then annoyed Moyes, who went straight to the referee at the end of the match. Moyes protested the court’s decision to legalize MU’s first goal.
Because when Dean Henderson threw the ball from the MU’s defense area and hit Fernandes on the right side, the round skin turned out to have already left the field.
However, Moyes’ protests at the time were ignored and the VAR referee did not even remember the goal to review.
“I think we played very well tonight. The only reason we could lose was a bad decision by the referee. The ball went through my head on the wing, nobody can see the ball better than me,” said David Moyes. BBC Sport.
“The linesman said he didn’t see it. Bad decision. The ball went out first, just look at the reaction of the players and our players know that the ball has left the field,” he continued.
“It hit us hard. It really affected the performance of the team.”
