MotoGP Teruel 2020, Podium Sensation of victory for Joan Mir

KOMPAS.com – Suzuki Ecstar team rider Joan Mir finished third in Teruel MotoGP 2020. However, for Mir, the third podium felt like a victory.

The Teruel MotoGP held at the Aragon MotorLand Circuit, Spain, on Sunday afternoon (10/25/2020), WIB led Franco Morbidelli as the winner.

The Petronas Yamaha SRT team rider won the Teruel MotoGP 2020 after consuming 23 laps with a total time of 41 minutes 47.652 seconds.

Morbidelli was 2.205 seconds ahead of Alex Rins (Suzuki Ecstar) who finished second.

Meanwhile, Joan Mir, who is 5,376 seconds behind Morbidelli, is in third place.

After the race, Mir admitted that he was having a hard time keeping up with Morbidelli and Rins in front of him.

“To be honest, I gave a lot more to the race this time,” Mir said. PaddockGP.

“I think we had a very good race, but the two riders in front of me are quite far away and I can’t catch up,” added the Spanish rider.

“They (Morbidelli and Rins) are very fast, so I congratulate them,” he said.

Although he could only finish third, the MotoGP results in Teruel were enough for Joan Mir to maintain his first position.

Mir remains firmly at the top of the 2020 MotoGP rankings with a collection of 137 points.

He was 14 points above Fabio Quartararo who was in second place.

“I gave 100 percent today, but it couldn’t be faster,” Mir said.

“Maybe I forced the front tire at the beginning of the race and it depressed me a bit at the end of the race,” he said again.

“However, starting from 12th position and reaching the podium is a good result. So today’s podium was like a victory,” said Joan Mir.
