KOMPAS.com – Fabio Quartararo had to accept a three-second penalty that saw him fall from third to fourth in MotoGP in Emilia Romagna.
This was originally due to Fabio Quartararo crossing the Misano Circuit track boundaries in Sunday’s race (9/20/2020).
Fabio Quartararo was sentenced to a long lap penalty on the last lap.
However, he did not suffer the long lap penalty, for which he was sentenced to three seconds.

Several MotoGP journalists such as Simon Patterson expressed that Quartararo was disappointed that he did not receive any warning that he had crossed the limits of the track.
“The first time he knew he had touched the green (the outer side of the track) was when he was notified of the Long Lap Penalty. He was not happy,” Patterson tweeted.
This was also said by Peter McLaren of Crash.net, who said that Quartararo did not receive a warning about the track limits from Race Direction.

“Quartararo said that in the future he would like a reminder of the track restrictions mounted on the pit board. If he knew he had been warned, Quartararo said he would be more careful. However, he knew it first after receiving the penalty.” , said.
“The track limit warning should be on the board, but Quartaro insists it doesn’t appear.”
MotoGP regulations state that there are several different decisions for a rider crossing the boundaries of the track in a race.
“If a rider wastes time and does not benefit from going off the track, no action is taken and it is not recorded.
“Some errors are allowed if it cannot be determined that the rider will make a profit or not leave the track.
“However, too many incidents will be considered an advantage because the driver does not use the same track as the competitors.
“A rider will receive a reminder from his board when he commits three violations.
“After five violations of the track limits, a long lap penalty will be given through a sign board with a message sent to the dashboard of the rider’s motorcycle.”
