The Extraordinary Congress of the Democratic Party (KLB), which was held unilaterally in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, decided that Moeldoko would become president. The chants of ‘President Moeldoko’ also echoed in the KLB arena when the former TNI commander was present in person.

At the KLB location, The Hill Hotel and Resort, Deli Serdang, on Friday (3/5/2021), this shout was originally uttered on the sidelines of Moeldoko speaking his comments as chairman of the KLB version of the Democrats. After the greeting, this cry resounded again.

The shouts of “President Moeldoko” at the end of the speech were led by a high-ranking Democratic politician, Etty Manduapessi. He stood in front of the other participants while chanting ‘President Moeldoko’ chants.

“President of Moeldoko,” Etty said greeted by KLB participants.

When the participants screamed, Moeldoko was still on the activity stage. He fell silent as he looked at the screaming KLB participants.

The KLB, which protested unilaterally, had previously elected Moeldoko as president-elect. This is based on the vote in the Democratic KLB in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra.

“The Extraordinary Congress of the Democratic Party considers and so on, considering and so on, paying attention, deciding, determining first, from the second candidate, based on the permanent vote, Pak Moeldoko is appointed as general president of the Democratic Party for the 2021 -2025 period, “said session leader Jhoni Allen Marbun, reading the verdict in plenary session.

Moeldoko was decided as the president-elect after going through the nomination process. Moeldoko defeated Marzuki Alie, who was nominated by NTB DPD.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), emphasized that the KLB held in Deli Serdang in North Sumatra today is illegal. AHY also said that the KLB participants were not the valid voters.

“Once again, I communicated to them that the illegal KLB participants in Deli Serdang in North Sumatra were not the legitimate voters,” AHY told a news conference in Jakarta.
