Milan –
AC Milan vs Manchester United remained unmarked until the end of the first half. Both teams were fighting to create dangerous opportunities.
Milan face MU at San Siro in the second leg of the Europa League round of 16, on Friday (3/19/2021) early in the morning. In the first leg, the two teams drew 1-1 at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils, who needed a victory to advance to the quarterfinals, took the initiative to attack early in the game. Milan opted to play on hold to reduce the number of visitors.
This method is quite effective, since MU seems difficult to dismantle the defense of Milan. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s troops only opened their first shot in this match in the 13th minute through Bruno Fernandes.
That, too, Fernandes kick in the middle of a siege from Milan players still shot up. Two minutes later it was Milan’s turn to threaten.
Franck Kessie fired horizontally from outside the penalty area. This effort is still weak, so it’s easy to lock Dean Henderson.
Still stuck, Fred tried his luck with a long-range shot in the 24th minute. However, his shot was aimed squarely at Gianluigi Donnarumma’s embrace.
Milan also did it several times pressing tall entering the middle of the first half. This makes it more difficult for MU to create attacks.
The host had stolen chances in the 40th minute. Alexis Saelamaekers launched a powerful shot right in front of MU’s penalty area. Henderson is still alert as he can protect himself from the ball.
Milan threatened again in the final minutes of the first half. Saelamaekers bait from the left found Rade Krunic in the penalty area, but Krunic’s shot went wide.
There were no goals created in the first half. The score is still 0-0.
