SEVILLA, KOMPAS.TV – Real Sociedad successfully ended a 34-year wait without a title after winning the Copa del Rey 2019/2020.

The Society won the title after defeating Athletic Bilbao 1-0 at the Olympic Stadium in Seville in the final on Sunday (4/4/2021) early in the morning, Western Indonesian time.

The only goal of the Society was scored by Mikel Oyarzabal from a penalty in the 64th minute.

This match was previously postponed 12 months, so that fans of both teams could attend.

The reason is that the rivalry between Sociedad and Bilbao is very close considering that both are Basque teams.

In addition, this is the first final in history that brings together the two most important teams in the Basque Country, a Spanish community that has close ties with France.
