Barcelona ended with a series of poor results in the 2020/2021 Spanish League. With the contribution of two goals from Lionel Messi, Los Cules beat Real Betis 5-2.
In the ninth game Barcelona vs Betis that was played at the Camp Nou, on Saturday (7/11/2020), Messi was booked in the first half. Antoine Griezmann, Ansu Fati and Ousmane Dembele were installed in the attack.
Dembélé opened the advantage of Barcelona in the 22nd minute. Antonio Sanabria equalized in injury time in the first half. Only then did Messi play in the second half.
Antoine Griezmann scored the goal that put Barcelona ahead in the 49th minute, then Messi scored two more goals to give his team a 4-2 lead. Betis had cut the score through Loren Morón.
Pedri’s goal in the 90th minute secured the three points for the Blaugrana, in addition to completing the team’s drought since early October. Betis lost a player, Aissa Mandi, who received a red card.
Barcelona climbs to eighth place in the standings with 11 points from seven games, six points ahead of Real Sociedad. Betis is seventh with 12 points in nine games.

Barcelona, who played in attack from the first minutes, had several opportunities through Ansu Fati and Griezmann, but Claudio Bravo’s goal had not yet been broken.
Bravo’s goal was finally broken in the 22nd minute through Dembélé. Griezmann puts the ball into Dembélé and with his left foot the Frenchman finishes off hard through the squad.
Griezmann had a chance to increase his team’s lead in the 33rd minute when Aissa Mandi violated Fati in the penalty area. Unfortunately, Griezmann’s execution was rejected by Bravo who moved to the right.
Then Betis tied the score in injury time in the first half. Sergio Canales gave feedback to Cristian Tello who ran down the left. Tello quickly returned to the penalty area, which was received by Sanabria’s trap in front of Marc-Andre Ter Stegen’s goal.
To chase victory, Messi was eventually played by Barcelona. However, it was Griezmann who paid his penalty and gave Barcelona a 2-1 lead in the 49th minute when Jordi Alba’s bait ball started from the left.

This goal made Barcelona even more excited to win. However, on several occasions Betis was also able to disrupt Barcelona’s defense, one of which was in the 55th minute when Canales fired but was pushed by Ter Stegen.
In the 59th minute, Barcelona get a penalty after the VAR calls Mandi’s hand while holding the shot. He bathed in the red card and Messi coldly executed the penalty to make it 3-1.

Betis cut the gap to 2-3 in the 73rd minute when Alex Moreno was able to break through Barcelona’s defense from the left. It was easy for him to send a pass that Loren Morón kicked in the penal city.
Messi finally scored in open play in the 42nd minute as he led Barcelona 4-2 away. Sergi Roberto makes a heel pass to the edge of the penalty area, for Messi to continue with a left-footed shot in the upper corner of Bravo’s goal.

Pedri ensured his team’s victory 5-2 with a goal in the 90th minute. Sergi Roberto was once again a layup when the ball from the right was thrown by Pedri into the net.
