Berlin – German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that the countries of the European Union (EU) would jointly develop the Covid-19 vaccine. Then he said the vaccine would be available worldwide if the vaccine had been found.

“It is about how we develop vaccines, medicines and good diagnostic options for people around the world. Germany assumes this responsibility,” Merkel said in a statement.

According to Merkel, $ 8 million is still not enough to develop a vaccine. “Germany will make a significant financial contribution to this work,” he said, as reported by Sputnik on Sunday (05/03/2020).

Merkel and other EU leaders had previously called for a $ 8.3 million fundraiser to help develop vaccines and other Covid-19 drugs.

He said he appreciated the fact that not only government agencies were involved in this activity, but also private foundations, vaccines and drug manufacturers. Merkel added that Germany intends to continue working with the World Health Organization (WHO) on this issue.
