jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Polda Metro Jaya visited the home of the leader of the Front of Islamic Defenders (FPI) Rizieq Shihab to present a subpoena to be questioned as a witness over the crowd during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Members of the Metro Jaya police together with Central Jakarta Kodim visited the FPI-run residence in Petamburan III.
“This only delivers a subpoena to Mr. Muhammad Rizieq Shihab,” the head of the Sub-Directorate of State Security of the Directorate of Criminal and Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Raindra Ramadhan in Jakarta said on Sunday (11/29).
Raindra explained that the call was related to the crowd during the COVID-19 pandemic during the commemoration of Prophet Muhammad’s birthday and the wedding of Rizieq’s daughter in Petamburan some time ago.
Raindra added that the summons had been received by representatives of Rizieq’s family and lawyer, who witnessed the local Rukun Warga (RW) administration.
When investigators arrived at Rizieq’s residence, several members of the FPI Laskar intervened, but the police explained the intention and purpose of serving Rizieq Shihab a summons.
The plan is for the Polda Metro Jaya investigators to schedule an exam of Rizieq Shihab on Tuesday (1/12).
Previously, the Chief of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Inspector General Pol Fadil Imran, stated that the investigators had found an alleged criminal element in a massive event at Rizieq’s residence.
