Meet the Eurofighter Typhoon
Quoted from the Eurofighter official website, the Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jet is the result of the cooperation of four European countries, namely Great Britain, Germany, Italy and Spain.
Construction of the first prototype of the Eurofighter Typhoon began in 1989. Then, in 1994, the DA1 and DA2 Eurofighter Typhoon began their first flight tests.
In 1997, the 500th flight test was carried out in Manching, Germany, followed by a series of subsequent tests, such as weapons tests, fuel capacity and supersonic speed.
In 2003, the Eurofighter Typhoon officially began its operational missions in the four manufacturing countries of this aircraft.

In 2007, Austria became the first country outside the producing country to buy this aircraft, followed by Saudi Arabia in 2008.
The first combat mission of the Eurofighter Typhoon took place in Libya on March 21, 2011, as part of a United Nations (UN) operation.
At that time, the British Royal Air Force (RAF) operating the Eurofighter Typhoon managed to record a flight time of 3,000 hours for six months.
To date, more than 550 Eurofighter Typhoon units have been produced for seven countries, namely Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Spain, Austria, Oman and Saudi Arabia.
The fighter jets logged a total flight time of 584,000 hours, with areas of operation in Europe, the South Atlantic and the Middle East.
Aircraft Specifications:
- Maximum speed: Mach 2.0
- Thrust: 90 kN
- Length of the aircraft: 15.96 meters
- Maximum altitude: 16,764 kilometers

Still from the same source, the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft frame construction is said to use the latest composite materials so that it is not easily detected by radar while creating a sturdy frame.
Only 15 percent of the aircraft’s surface is metal, making the Eurofighter Typhoon perform well for quiet operation and protected from radar detection.
The materials used include, carbon fiber, aluminum. lithium, titanium, glass reinforced plastic (GRP) and aluminum foundry.
In the engine sector, the Eurofighter Typhoon uses a Eurojet twin jet engine capable of producing 90 kN of thrust.
Thanks to this engine, the Eurofighter Typhoon is capable of reaching supersonic speeds for longer. This machine is also claimed to be durable, which equates to 1,000 maintenance-free flight hours.

The Eurofighter Typhoon is also equipped with state-of-the-art sensors capable of integrating and updating combat data. real time.
This aircraft is also equipped with a pirate infrared sensor, which is said to be able to detect and track many moving targets.
For combat matters, the Eurofighter Typhoon is armed with short-range air-to-air missiles (SRAAMs) and a 27-millimeter Mauser cannon.
In addition, this aircraft is also equipped with technology beyond visual range (BVR) Air-to-air missile which is said to provide more advantage in aerial duels.

- Close air support – the ability to stay on the mission for a long time. Its sophisticated suite of sensors allows for good coordination with ground commanders and the identification of individual targets.
- Suppression of enemy air defenses (SEAD): a combination of precise navigation precision, highly sophisticated on-board sensors, and state-of-the-art weapons, ensuring effective targeting against enemy air defenses.
- Maritime attack – Special radar and data link modes allow the Eurofighter Typhoon to function independently or as part of an offensive force.
