jpnn.com, JAKARTA – The Cyber ​​Crimes Directorate (Dittipidsiber) Bareskrim Polri arrested a woman with the initials VE alias Videl in Makassar, South Sulawesi, on Thursday (8/10).

VE is suspected of spreading hoaxes on social media about the Omnibus Law on Cipta Kerja.

The head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono, said that the 36-year-old perpetrator was arrested for spreading hoaxes related to the Cipta Kerja Omnibus Law via the @videlyaeyang Twitter account.

“The arrests were carried out at Andani’s pension at Jalan Masjid Baiturrahman Mawar No. 85, Karampilan Urban Village, Panakukang District, Makassar City, South Sulawesi,” Argo told reporters on Friday (10/8).

In addition to arresting the perpetrators, the police also confiscated various evidence. Among them is a cell phone along with a SIM card.

“The action taken by the perpetrator was to spread false news on the @videlyaeyang Twitter account, which generated confusion,” Argo said.

Meanwhile, Kasubdit II Dittipidsiber Bareskrim Polri Kombes Himawan Bayu Aji revealed the perpetrators’ motive for spreading hoaxes.

“The motive was caused by a feeling of disappointment that the perpetrator is no longer working,” Himawan said.
