jpnn.com, JAKARTA – The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, stated that the discussion on the copyright bill of the work has been conducted openly.
The PDIP legislator emphasized that the bill prioritizes national interests in the short and long term.
Puan affirmed that in his intervention in the Plenary of the House of Representatives with the closing agenda of the First Session of the Conference 2020-2021 at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Monday (5/10).
“This bill has been completed by the government and the DPR through intense discussions and carried out openly, carefully and prioritizing national interests, both in the short and long term,” said Puan.
Puan hopes that the Ciptaker bill can build a better business ecosystem in Indonesia. “It can accelerate the realization of Indonesia’s progress,” said the grandson of the Indonesian Independence Proclaimer Soekarno.
According to Puan, if the bill is considered incomplete by some people, there is scope to improve it through a mechanism in accordance with the provisions of the legislation. He assured that the DPR, through its supervisory function, would continue to evaluate when the Law was implemented.
“And it will ensure that the law is implemented in the national interest and the interests of the Indonesian people,” said PDI politician Perjuangan.
Ratification of the Ciptaker bill was difficult at the DPR plenary meeting on Monday (5/10). There was a debate between the vice president of the DPR, Azis Syamsuddin, who chaired the meeting, and the legislator of the Democratic Party, Benny Kabur Harman. The Democratic Party decided to withdraw.
