JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk finally promised to replace the athlete’s money Electronic sports Winda Earl.

However, the money that was replaced was not a total of 22.9 billion rupees, but only 16.8 billion rupees.

“We have indicated our readiness to replace Rs 16.8 billion,” PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk spokesman Tommy Hersyaputera told Kompas.com on Wednesday (11/25/2020).

Tommy said the compromise came from the mediation process facilitated by the Department of Consumer Protection, Financial Services Authority (OJK). For now, the mediation process is still continuing.

Tommy said that the remaining money that had not been replaced would await the investigation process of the National Police Headquarters.

“While the rest are still waiting for the investigation process by friends of the police,” said Tommy.

Furthermore, he requested the cooperation of all parties to jointly respect the ongoing investigation process.

Through investigation, he hopes that all parties receiving funds in this case will be clearly exposed.

“We must not precede the authorities by making speculative and biased statements,” he concluded.

Athletes Electronic sports Winda Lunardi, alias Winda Earl, and her mother discovered that their savings of Rs 22 billion in Maybank Indonesia had disappeared. The money consists of 17.9 billion rupees belonging to Winda and 5,000 million rupees belonging to her mother.

The case entered a new chapter when both parties, both Maybank and Winda, presented their respective opinions and arguments.

Finally, Maybank Indonesia is exploring options to replace Winda’s money through mediation efforts supported by the OJK.

This method is done because Maybank is committed to complying with applicable regulations in the financial industry, as well as a form of responsibility towards customers, shareholders and the public.

“This of course is done paying attention to the legal aspects that apply, to be obeyed by both parties”, concluded Tommy.
