Suara.com – Gerindra Party politician Fadli Zon suggested that the leader of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), Habib Rizieq Shihab, should not join a political party.
This followed after reviving, the Masyumi Party immediately made a breakthrough, that is, by inviting various figures to the ulama to join their party.
One of the figures invited to join was Habib Rizieq Shihab.
“I think Habib Rizieq should not join a political party,” Fadli said after visiting Habib Rizieq’s residence in Petamburan, central Jakarta, on Thursday (12/11/2020).

Fadli felt that Rizieq should stay on the right path by becoming a scholar.
Furthermore, he said, the character of the high priest’s cleric should no longer be questioned.
“He is a scholar, his character has been recognized. There is no person in the history of Indonesia, not even Bung Karno, Bung Hatta, the proclaimer was not picked up like that at the airport. And there was no mobilization, much less there,” he said .
“This means that it is a de facto recognition of the Indonesian people, of the Indonesian Muslims,” he continued.
Furthermore, Commissioner I DPR RI admitted that he would regret that Habib Rizieq joined a political party.

“In my opinion as a clergyman and I don’t think anyone has the idea of joining a political party, it’s a shame that they join a political party, I don’t think it’s necessary,” he said.
