Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
Honda racer Alex Marquez defend Joan Mir excited after hugging the world title MotoGP 2020.
Mir confirmed the world title after finishing seventh in MotoGP Valencia on Sunday (11/15). Mir made sure to become world champion in MotoGP 2020 even though the race was still held in a series.
Although he has shown his prowess on the track, some parts still doubt Mir. This is because Mir became world champion when Marc Márquez was on a long hiatus due to a broken arm.
This skeptical tone also triggered Mir’s emotions. He did not agree to be called champion because Marc Márquez had not participated in the race for most of this season.
“Anyone who says the world title is less valuable because Marc is absent, he doesn’t know much about motorcycles,” Mir said as reported by GPOne.
“Marc is not here not because he was kidnapped, but because he made a mistake. In the past there has also been an injury for the favorite to win the title, it is part of this sport,” he continued.
Support for Mir also came Alex Márquez. Marc Márquez’s younger brother said that his brother’s absence did not reduce Mir’s value as a new MotoGP champion.
“Eligibility remains the same without Marc, he is [Mir] he is the world champion. “He dominated from the beginning, he knew how to be there,” said Alex Márquez as reported by Tuttomotoriweb.
“When you’re a world champion, what other people say doesn’t matter.”
Mir appeared consistent as he continued on the podium until finally becoming MotoGP world champion in 2020. Mir won the world title in his second season in MotoGP.
