BUENOS AIRES, KOMPAS.com – Diego Maradona’s personal doctor, Leopoldo Luque, was investigated on Sunday (11/29/2020) for the alleged accidental murder of the Argentine legend.

The investigation began four days after Maradona’s death, prosecutors reported in San Isidro, near Buenos Aires.

Police raided Luque’s home in search of possible evidence suggesting negligence, according to television monitoring cited by the news agency. AFP.

The investigation was prompted by concerns raised by three of Maradona’s daughters, Dalma, Giannina and Jana, about the heart care their father received at his home in Tigre, north of Buenos Aires, judicial sources said.

“Our investigation is ongoing, we are talking with witnesses including members of (Maradona’s) family,” said a source close to the investigation in San Isidro.

Luque declined to comment when contacted AFP. He posted a photo with Maradona the day the creator of the Hand of God Gol left the hospital on November 12, 8 days after the operation to remove a blood clot in Maradona’s brain.

Maradona then returned home to Tigre for further medical treatment.

The Napoli legend died of a heart attack on Wednesday (11/25/2020) local time, and was buried the next day in the cemetery of the Garden of Peace, a suburb of the Argentine capital.
