After Diego Maradona died and was buried, his body was again removed for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Here are the results of the autopsy on Maradona’s body.

Maradona died on November 25, 2020 due to cardiac arrest. The Argentine soccer legend died at the age of 60.

There was a question mark about the cause of Maradona’s death, especially a few weeks before he died, he was operated on for a brain hemorrhage. Interestingly, Maradona’s death was far from a headache.

Next, an autopsy was carried out on the body of the former Naples and Barcelona player. Previously, Maradona’s body had been buried so he had to be removed again from the place of his last resting place.

“There is no (illegal) drug,” said a judicial official quoted by ABC, in connection with the autopsy results of the world soccer legend.

Maradona is experienced with medications and has taken seven different medications to treat depression, anxiety, and other ailments. In the past, Maradona was even known as a figure close to narcotics and illegal drugs.

The autopsy is based on blood and urine samples. The Buenos Aires Science Police said Maradona had problems with his kidneys, heart and lungs.

“Acute pulmonary edema secondary to chronic heart failure aggravated by dilated cardiomyopathy,” wrote a police statement.

Maradona reportedly moved his burial site. Maradona also requested that it be preserved when he died and that his body be kept in a museum in Argentina.

Maradona wants to emulate the respect of the national father of the Soviet Union, Vladimir Lenin, whose remains are on display in Moscow’s Red Square, from his death in 1924 to the present day.
