JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Labor Minister Ida Fauziyah expressed the reason why DPR abruptly passed the Labor Copyright Act (RUU).
Ida said that based on the information it obtained, DPR wanted to reduce the intensity of the meeting on the grounds that many DPR members were exposed to the corona virus (Covid-19).
“The DPR decided to accelerate (the ratification) which was scheduled for 6 or 8 (October). Then it was proposed that it be the 5th with the argument that the meeting hours were reduced so that the spread of Covid-19 could be repressed, ”he said in the Employment Creation Law of the Employment Socialization Cluster. which aired virtually on Thursday (10/8/2020).

“Maybe a lot of people say why is it all of a sudden on the 5th? That’s what I heard was the reason for the explanation from the Vice President (DPR) because a lot of DPR friends were exposed to Covid-19,” Ida continued.
Still, Ida said, the Omnibus Act of the Job Creation Act had gone through a long process of coordination meetings.
He said that, prior to becoming law, the Omnibus Law on Job Creation had been discussed 64 times. It consists of 2 business meetings, 56 DPR Panja meetings, and 6 sync team writing team meetings.
“Then, in the end, the DPR decided to approve it in the plenary session on October 5,” he said.

On October 5, the Vice Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Azis Syamsuddin, struck the hammer as a sign of the passage of the Omnibus Law on the Employment Creation Law, after obtaining the approval of all the participants of the meeting. .
The DPR Plenary Meeting was marked by the move away from the Democratic Party faction because they felt they were not given the opportunity to express an opinion.
The president of the Body of Legislation (Baleg) DPR Supratman Andi Agtas in his presentation at the Plenary Meeting explained that the Job Creation Bill was discussed in 64 meetings from April 20 to October 3, 2020. The Bill Job Creation consists of 15 chapters and 174 articles.
