KOMPAS.com – Development of the Malang Heritage tourist area in Kayutangan, Malang city, East Java, initiated by the local government.
Reporting from Between, the area is expected to resemble the Malioboro Yogyakarta, which is famous among tourists.
The Kayutangan area, or currently known as Jalan Basuki Rachmad, was the center of commerce and shopping during the Dutch East Indies era.

In the area, there are rows of old buildings that have a high historical value.
Currently the area is the center of offices and shops. Along Jalan Basuki Rachmad, there are several bank buildings and shops that have been operating for decades.
Funding for the Malang Heritage development project in the Kayutangan area comes primarily from the central government, channeled through the Special Allocation Fund (DAK), with a total of IDR 23 billion.

The mayor of Malang Sutiaji said that the development of the Malang Heritage area was marked by the closure of the protocol road.
“Yesterday (the closure of the road) was postponed, because there are still issues to be negotiated with business actors,” said Sutiaji, in Malang, on Tuesday (11/10/2020).
In the initial plan, several roads that will be closed during the construction of the Malang Heritage area will take place on November 2, 2020. However, in the end, the closure will only take place on November 9, 2020.

For the record, there are two major road closure points that have had a significant impact on traffic flow in the city of Malang.
The two sections are the Rajabali intersection and the three intersection in front of the Malang City State Electricity Company (PLN) office.
