jpnn.com, JAKARTA – The Coordinating Minister of Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD regretted the attitude of the Grand Imam of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Habib Rizieq Shihab, who refused to be tested for COVID-19. Additionally, Habib Rizieq is strongly suspected of having had contact with a COVID-19 positive patient.

“We deeply regret the attitude of Brother Muhammad Rizieq Shihab, who refused to do a contact tracing considering that he had close contact with a COVID-19 patient,” Mahfud said in an official statement broadcast on BNPB Indonesia’s Youtube account, on Sunday (11/29).

Mahfud asked that everyone who has had contact with a positive patient have to cooperate. For example, wanting to check your health.

“We ask once again the broader community, whoever they are, to cooperate so that the management of COVID-19 is successful,” Mahfud said.

Previously, a team from the Bogor City Health Office came to UMMI Hospital on Friday (11/26) afternoon to provide assistance in the implementation of the swab test for Habib Rizieq Shihab.

However, UMMI Hospital said Habib Rizieq had been examined by his personal Mer-C physician for a swab.

Habib Rizieq has also written to the mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya, for rejecting the hyssop test. The Petamburan man apparently objected if the results of his swab test were later announced to the public. (ast / jpnn)
