The United States Geological Survey (USGS) rated the earthquake a magnitude M 7, while the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center said it was a magnitude 6.9 earthquake with an epicenter 13 km northeast of the Greek island of Samos.
Meanwhile, the Turkish government’s disaster agency AFAD reported a smaller magnitude of the earthquake, that is, a magnitude of 6.6 at a depth of 16.5 km.
