Zulkarnaen is one of the leaders of Jamaah Al Islamiyah (JI) who devised a strategy for a terror series in Jakarta and was the mastermind behind the Bali Bombing 2.

The resident’s suspicion stemmed from Zulkarnaen’s refusal when the local Covid-19 task force helped him get treatment.

Supriyanto, said a neighbor next to the house, a few days before Zulkarnaen was arrested by the Densus 88 team on December 10, 2020 yesterday.

“The person concerned is sick, coughing. Well, the neighbors here try to help him with the puskesmas,” Supriyanto said when he met at the scene on Sunday (12/20/2020).

His face is rarely seen

However, Zulkarnaen refused to be taken to the puskesmas. Even until the village’s Covid-19 task force stepped in, Zulkarnaen continued to refuse to be taken for treatment.

So when the Densus Team arrived at the suspect’s home in Taman Fajar Village, Probolinggo, East Lampung around 00.00 WIB, the residents weren’t too surprised.

“There were (residents) who were shocked, there were also (shocked). Because, yes, a lot of people were suspicious,” Supriyanto said.

According to Supriyanto, while living in the neighborhood, Zulkarnaen was known only at home.
