London –
David Luiz continues to play although he has to bandage his head because he is bleeding. Arsenal’s careless actions were criticized by their own fans.
The 10th week of the Premier League brings Arsenal vs Wolverhampton to the Emirates Stadium, on Monday morning (11/30/2020) WIB. Five minutes into the game, there was a terrible incident between Arsenal defender Luiz and Wolverhampton striker Jiménez.
Willian sends a corner and Jiménez heads the ball. When Jiménez jumped, Luiz simultaneously jumped on the Mexico player.
As a result, the two players collided head-on in midair and caused a loud sound that was heard on television broadcasts. Then Luiz and Jiménez went to bed.
Fortunately, Luiz was still able to get up and even started playing again after receiving treatment from Arsenal’s medical team. Still, Luiz had to wear a bandage on his head.
However, Luiz only played for a while before being replaced by Rob Holding early in the second half. Arsenal’s decision to continue playing with Luiz, who suffered severe bleeding after the aerial duel, was questioned.
Because, this can put Luiz in danger if there are more head injuries. Luiz was also unable to play at his best and the proof is that Arsenal’s goal was conceded twice in the first half until they finally lost by a score of 1-2.
“Apart from the incredibly bad defensive line and how easy it was for the Wolves to pass us. However, it is inhumane when Luiz continues to play after a head injury. Arteta and the medical team should be ashamed,” said one Arsenal fan. on Twitter quoted by Mirror.
“Still shocked and disgusted to see David Luiz continue to play after the incident,” continued the other Gunners fans.
These results have kept Arsenal stuck at 14th in the Premier League standings with 13 points and this is Arsenal’s worst start since the early 1980s.
